The Corsair Foundation is a Private Operating Foundation, incorporated in Oregon on July 11th, 2019, for the purpose of supporting youth action programs.
We at the Corsair Foundation support any action based program for youth and will consider support for any program that engages youth and offers growth.
At our initial formation, we were asked to take over an existing Sea Scout program built on Vocational Training. Assets are being transferred from the existing Charter entity of the SSS Rampart program to the Corsair Foundation immediately. These assets will be used to benefit other programs as well as the existing Sea Scout program that we are taking over. The SSS Rampart program will be adjusted and expanded to include other ages and organizations. As such, our fundraising efforts will benefit far more than any single organizational element. As a side note, the existing Charter entity is not taking a taxable donation for this change and the charter will transfer at rechartering time; the unit transition should be seamless to the participants of the Rampart program.
Our programs are built to benefit youth that want to build cross industry skills while focusing on Maritime opportunities to keep it fun. Our programs will also include opportunities for some adults to develop skills that would normally be unavailable to them by participating in the programs as adult leaders.
